Budget Canvas — Last updated: February 2026

Introduction

Budget Canvas (“the App”) is a budget allocation planner based on the 50/30/20 rule. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Data Collection and Storage

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All your personal and financial data is stored locally on your device. This includes:

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up (see “Google Drive Backup” below).

Authentication

The App uses a passphrase that you create to encrypt and protect your data. Your passphrase is never stored in plain text and is never transmitted to any server. If your device supports biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition), you may use it as a convenient alternative to entering your passphrase. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device’s operating system and is never accessed or stored by the App.

Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, an encrypted copy of your budget data is stored in your personal Google Drive account. This feature requires you to sign in with your Google account. The App only accesses its own application-specific folder in your Drive and does not read or modify any other files. You can disable this feature at any time.

Anonymous Usage Analytics (Optional)

The App may collect anonymous usage analytics to help us improve the user experience. This is opt-in and can be enabled or disabled at any time in Settings. If enabled, analytics data may include:

Analytics data does not include any financial data, budget amounts, item names, passphrase information, or any personally identifiable information.

Data We Do Not Collect

Data Security

Your budget data is encrypted using your passphrase before being stored. The App uses industry-standard encryption practices to protect your information. Since data is stored locally on your device, its security also depends on your device’s own security measures (screen lock, device encryption, etc.).

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
